Rules at IBSAG

If a student does not follow the rules, they will be kicked out of the school and return home. 

Short resume of the rules

Alkohol and drugs are not aloud

In the normal weekdays, the students are forbidden to sleep in any room but their own but during the weekends it is acceptable, as long as both parties are of the same sex.

When the lights go out and the teacher has said good night, the students are not allowed to leave their room and wander the halls.

Most importantly, we will not tolerate bullying or racism of any kind in the school. Therefore, it is also forbidden to be disrespectful towards religions of other students.

Dresscode

• Normal days

  • Every student and every employee at the school will everyday wear the school uniform. 

    • The School uniform consists of a scout scarf with the school logo on it, It will also be the place all received badges will be added to during the school year.

  • In the common area and not the students rooms you are not allowed to wear only underwear, or wear your night clothes

    • If students wear any of the following outside of their room they will be ask to change

  • During a normal school day, students and employees are allowed to wear any kind of clothing except for the two mentioned before. There are in general no Dress code

  • At the school it is important to remember that neither a girl or a boy is a distraction with their clothes, and if anyone has a problem with how people look, it is their own problem that has nothing to do with the way someone dresses.

  • If we have an activity at the school that requires a special kind of clothing or shoes, a student can be asked to change their clothes. Example if we are going on a hike the student will be asked to change their ballerina shoes for more practical shoes.

• Special occasion

  • If you own a Scout uniform you will wear this to special occasions like the first school day etc.

  • If you do not own a scout uniform you are required to wear more fancy clothes like a dress or a shirt to more special occasions. It is up to the individual person what they see as fancy clothing.

Nights

• Students are not allowed to be out of their rooms during the nights

• During the week days students have to sleep in their own room.

• During the weekend it is possible to have a sleepover in another room, if it is of the same gender, and the missing roommate has said it is okay.

• Sex are not allowed on the schools premices and on school activities

 

Weekends and vacations

• Everyone goes home when there is vacation

  • If you live far away and it is not possible to travel home, the school will find you a host family during the vacation.

• It is possible to either stay in the weekend or to travel home or somewhere else

  • Some weekends are staying weekends, where you have to stay at the school.

  • The students can only travel home or to another place if the parents contact the school about this.

  • The school does not pay for any travel outside of the school.

Safety

• Since we are a school for scouts there will be many activities that need safety instructions. it is important that the students follow these instructions

  • If a student over a longer time does not listen or follow safety instructions. The student will be expelled, since the school will not be able to take the responsibility for someone who will not follow the safety rules.

    • Expelling can first happen after the second talk with the parents and student. so third time the rules are not being follow, the student will get expelled

    • Expelling can happen before if a student's lack of safety behavior makes an extremely dangerous situation. Where the school will have to stop the cooperation immediately

• If a student start the fire alarm, just for fun, and not because there is a fire, the student will get the bill and get expelled at the same time. This will of course not happens if it is not the students fault that the fire alarm goes off, like if it goes off because of the cold weather

 

Alcohol, drugs and other illegal events

• Alcohol is not allowed at the school, or at school activities. 

  • If a student drinks alcohol they will be expelled immediately

  • If an employee drinks alcohol when there is school activities they will be fired

• Drugs, Both marijuana and harder drugs are not allowed at the school

  • If a student does any kind of drugs they will be expelled immediately.

  • If a Employee does any kind of drugs they will be fired immediately

• All illegal events will be reported to the police, and the student will be expelled, and the employee fired. For example, stealing.

 

Destruction of school property

• If a small destruction happens by accident the school will pay for the destruction

  • Example: If a chair breaks when someone is sitting on it it will be the school's job to pay. if the chair breaks because a students throw with it, the bill will be send to the parents instead

• If big destructions happens like breaking a window, the parens/student will have to pay for the damage

• Vandalism against school property will not be tolerated and can lead to expulsion

 

Bullying

• Bullying and discrimination will not be accepted at the school. The school will together with the students and the employees do everything to prevent bullying in the first place

• If bullying or descrimination appears there will be a talk home with the parents to make it stop, but in the worst case scenario it can lead to expulsion of the student.
